With over 35 years of experience within the precision engineering industry, Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd have gained an enviable reputation as a flexible and efficient sub-contract precision engineering company. With a comprehensive range of multi-axis CNC milling and turning machinery as well as a full tool-room facility for smaller volume and prototype production we are well placed to offer a complete precision engineering service.
The heart of our business is precision and close tolerance machined components and assemblies. We are perfectly equipped to serve customers who need low, medium or high volumes of precision machined parts for both prototype and production requirements. Apsley typically machine components to +/-50 micron tolerances but can achieve tolerances as tight as 10 microns.

Apsley Engineering (now Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd) was established in 1984 by Graham Aymes BSc, CEng, MIMechE, following a successful career with the British government working as a lead design engineer at Enfield Small Arms Factory at the onset of the SA80 project. Career progression then lead to the position of Deputy Head of Engineering at the Chemical Defence Establishment (DSTL) at Porton Down in Wiltshire.
Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd specialise in the manufacturing of precision machined components and assemblies for the Defence, Medical, Aerospece, Oil & Gas and Scientific Industries. Our reputation is built on over 30 years of continuous excellent service, providing top quality CNC milling, CNC turning, and precision engineering to a diverse range of clients.
Our high performance CNC machining centres are designed for the production of short or long batch runs, enabling us to deliver high quality, with short lead times and lower costs. We have a comprehensive range of machines which allow us to remain competative on both large and small batch runs. For example we have automated 5 axis machining capability which runs 24/7 with robotic loading and in-process inpsection.
Apsley Precision Engineering Ltd have a fully equipped multi-axis CNC machine shop which is fully supported by the latest CAD /CAM and has the added ability to accept electronic drawings and models. This is complimented by CNC CMM inspection facilities enabling us to inspect components to micron accuracy and directly against an electronic model of the design.
