Brackmills MOT Centre Northampton are members of the RMI (Retail Motor Industry Federation) they are the leading UK automotive trade body. RMI represent franchised car and commercial dealers along with petrol retailers, augtion houses and cherished number plate dealers and thos who provide sales and services to motorists and business across the UK.
Its been a great experience from picking up the phone to booking the MOT, then to a well mannered/presented member of staff collecting the vehicle from my home, to then get a reasonable quote for the advisory items which were found on the MOT inspection. I would highly recommend Brackmills MOT Centre to anyone and without doubt use them again myself.
It's the combustion process, inside your engine, that is responsible for producing soot deposits in cylinders, pistons, particle filters, EGR valves and turbos. Clogged parts prevent the engine from functioning properly. If carbon deposits (soot) are not removed regularly, faults can occur and the costs can soon mount up (expect around 350 euros per EGR valve and up to 2000 euros for a turbo.).

Absolutely awful service! i would give them minus stars if it was possible. I gave them a breakdown of work that needed doing from Mazda (I didn't use mazda as they were too expensive as a main dealer) which was a huge mistake on my part. the email I sent to Brackmills mot centre stated the car needs a carbon clean which I also told them on the phone. unfortunately they decided that it would be better for them to do their own diagnosis on my car which I stupidly agreed to. unfortunately I am not very clued up when it comes to cars and I thought I could trust what they were saying and unfortunately

I have always used this company for my MOT’s and have previously been very impressed.
This time my car failed and needed some work doing.
This took a total of two weeks and two days.
Not sure if that is an appropriate time or not.
Two new tyres, part exhaust, and new window mechanism.
Anyway the work was carried out well and the car runs well.
The two chaps on reception kept me up to date when I rung.
I suspect the current situation in the country had a large impact on the time it took for completion.
I’ll go back again.

I took my car here for the first time after looking for a place on Google to give my car its MOT. I rang up Brackmills MOT Centre and they were able to squeeze me in within a few days. Everyone I spoke too was friendly and professional, the service was quick and it was good value for money.

They failed car for rusted brake pipes, took it to another garage who said there is nothing wrong with them. Got it back to Brackmills MOT centre to show me where exactly the rust is, but their only tester was off for 2 weeks. asked them to just lift car and show me where the rust is, but they still insisted only person who is allowed to do it is MOT tester. As MOT was running out and MOT centre refused to test it before original tester comes back I took it for test to another garage, who also stated that brake pipes are fine and passed MOT. Learned my lesson - cheap MOT, silly fails.

I did the MOT for an older van here, and I was shocked how they hammered the van for one hour!
Before that the van didn't have a hole!
After that the van had some holes but they did more damage taking down the paint from sills and damaging the underbody sealant.
The second issue with them was that they had a offer for online application of £19.99 for cat 1 till 4, when I arrived there he told me that it's a cat 7 but after he checked better and after I told him that the van is under 3000Kg he accepted that is cat 4, but still they charge me £39.99.
Conclusion, if you have an older vehicle
