Employers will need to top up the government's contribution, which is now 60% of wages (up to a maximum cap of 1,875) to ensure the employee receives the requisite 80% (up to 2,500). These restrictions have been relaxed slightly in recent years, e.g. However, these rights and the underlying time limits etc. are often a source of confusion.

We started our business over 6 years ago without having a clue as it related to business tax affairs (we still don't) but this is where Phipps Anthony came in. They have been with us from the outset always providing sound professional advice , dealing with literally everything tax related, VAT, sub- contractors, payroll, even helping us with our mortgage ! I can honestly say we wouldn't still be trading if it wasn't for them and would highly recommend Richard and the team (Kelly, Sarah and Ella). Always at the end of the phone; cannot praise them enough !
