A lettings agency partnership between Michael Alan Sears and David John Comley was begun, taking the name of Sealeys from both partners' surnames. From being office based, Sealeys opened its first branch shop at 197 Parrock Street, Gravesend - then Gravesend's only residential lettings company.

Sealeys becomes the first estate agent to run buy-to-let seminars held at Ebbsfleet United's football stadium at Stonebridge Road in the beginning of the first wave of buy-to-let investors.Sealeys Gravesend Branch moved from Parrock Street to Clive Road, opposite Gravesend's railway station and part of the Thamesgate Shopping Centre.
