The 2 ladies working last night (30th Sept) are a great credit to the hotel! Nothing was too much trouble and there were plenty of smiles to help surviving from a suitcase a much pleasant experience than I have experienced elsewhere.
Very good CV19 precautions in place and very professionally enforced.

Price wise, it was a great choice. Everything else though, needs work.
1. No till receipt except at the reception desk. If you are a business traveller, don’t count on the bar or restaurant to give you one.
2. Rooms are large but need an update as quite dated.
3. Food is sub par at best.
4. They ran out of tap beer at 6pm... all varieties...

This place was such a strange mix of good and bad! We stayed on a Saturday night but we're the only people in the restaurant which was already laid out for breakfast at 8pm. The beer was good but the coke was like coloured water.... The menu and the food was superb! Our room was fine except for the burn in the carpet with a good shower. Breakfast was very good except for the lousy tea and coffee which were both undrinkable. There were plenty of staff around and while I would stay here again, next time I will comment directly to them!

3 Star Facility with 5 Star service.
It is a reasonably sized hotel in the town centre and I stayed on the top floor (I have stayed on different floors on previous visits) and the quality is consistent.
Rooms are neat and very clean. Furniture is in very good quality even if somewhat tired. Bathroom is in good shape and very clean but the towels look like they have seen too many calendars.
Breakfast is generous and probably the best part of my stay. I don't eat any other meal as I am stuck in meetings all day and we go out for team dinners at night.
Note of caution. The hotel will accept cards

Solid hotel. The room I was in was WAY more modern than the hotel itself. Bed was a tad soft. My experience with the staff was excellent. My room was ready early, cleaned properly, and check in and out was a breeze. The WiFi worked VERY well and was generally quite fast. The bar was convient and had a good selection of beers. Breakfast was solid with well done eggs and bacon. Only did the dinner once and it was pretty good, the soup I had was excellent. The other nights I had plans with co-workers or plans of my own. Only wish it had a gym. Would definitely stay here again if in the

This is the second time I've stayed in a hotel in Wigan for work, and the second time it hasn't been an excellent experience.
The staff here are perfectly friendly, but the systems in place just seem so inefficient - it must drive them crazy too. It took a full 20 minutes to check in, and to order room service you had to go downstairs that night to pay for it - sort of negating the need for room service. After I'd ordered my dinner - burger and chips - I waited half an hour to receive jus the burger.
