Established in 1903, The UnitBirwelco Group is made up of three strategically located UK based divisions - Unit Superheater Engineering, Unit Engineers and Constructors and Birwelco. Birwelco is based in Halesowen and are our design office. With expertise in flares, heaters and a wide scope of engineering design work, Birwelco are experts in design, and creators of the patented Sonajet Flare Design.

Our 40 years experience as a leading global supplier of flare systems ensures our Flare Gas Recovery systems meet the requirements of our Clients and satisfy the most demanding industry and internationally recognised standards. Our capability and experience allows us to provide Flare Gas Recovery units as part of a new flare system or as an additional installation within an existing flare system, all to suit the client's specific requirements.

Now recognised as a world leader, the Sonajet design was first developed and patented by UnitBirwelco in the 1970's to meet the requirements for low radiation flaring on North Sea installations. The Sonajet combines the advantages of high pressure sonic flaring with long life to provide guaranteed ignition under all conditions.

For over 50 years UnitBirwelco has been a powerful force in the fired heater market, with our design expertise delivering benefits to the petrochemical industry across the UK, Europe, North America, and the Middle and Far East. Carefully developed in recent years, our high intensity heater technology for crude and vacuum heaters, is still the premier design choice today.
