Services
The firm was founded by Donald Dixon-Hurst in London during the late 1930's with offices in Regent Street. Mr Dixon-Hurst had strong links with Brighton, the Borough Council and East Sussex County Council. The firm duly relocated to Brighton in 1959 and became known as Dixon Hurst & Partners. The Horsham Office was set up in 1990 following the Construction downturn of that time.
We provide engineering solutions and advice. We employ chartered civil and structural engineers and technically qualified staff operating from offices in Brighton, Horsham and Chichester. Our regular workload comprises a mix of capital projects and smaller residential scale projects. Whether you want a simple loft conversion or full engineering services on a major project we will be pleased to help.

Another project successfully delivered on time and budget by Nick at Dixon Hurst.
Creating six rooms across three floors incl. a loft conversion required the creative solution of a new spine and staircase allowing for minimum steels to the existing three bed house.
The build team were thankful for the insightful simplicity that saved their labour and time. The clear precise calcs were turned around quickly. I look forward to working with DH on the next projects.

In 2016 I came across Dixon Hurst website and saw a graduate engineer role for their Hove office. Back then I was a new graduate, with a an upper 2.1 BEng (Hons) Civil engineering. After seeing the advertised position, I decided to go in person, with my CV and cover letter which I had spent considerable time tailoring to the job.
When I got there, I was met by this middle aged lady with dark hair and I can only say she gave me one of the coldest and unwelcoming reception, one that I will remember for a very long time. I explained why I was there and tried to hand her my CV and cover letter but
