A mulch is any material applied to the soil surface for protection or improvement of the area covered. Mulches are frequently applied around plants to modify the soil environment and enhance plant growth. The mulch material may be organic such as bark, wood chips, pine needles, composts or similar material; or inorganic such as gravel, pebbles or woven ground cloth.
Unsure about how much material you require for your project? Please use our mulch and aggregate calculator to feed in the dimensions of the area in question. We recommend laying your product to a depth of 75mm (3") if you are planning a new area, but to a depth of 50mm (2") or 25mm (1") if you are topping up an existing work area.

Went in to buy some Filler. Went to pay by card and told we can only accept debit cards of £5 or more and the Filler was £4.99 can I use cash. Like many in these Covid days paying by cash is generally not preferred - plus that I only had my card. No suggestion to solve the issue from the server. I know I could have said just charge me a fiver on the card - but I was really frustrated by such poor service I just said ‘forget it’ and purchased from Camborne Home Bargains - cheaper & guess what... they accepted my card on a £2.99 purchase. Miraculous!
