If you are arrested it is critical to be careful what you say and how you act. Anything you say to a Police Officer can be used to incriminate you and to build a stronger prosecution against you. Police Officers do make mistakes and not following the correct procedures can be used to help with your defence in some circumstances.
At Geoff White Solicitors we represent clients on either a legal aid basis or on a privately funded basis when legal aid is not available. I would have been happy to have paid for their services for my family member as I could afford it but I was persuaded to use Legal Aid. No meetings before the court case but he did send someone on the day who knew nothing about the case but was good. Found not guilty on the major stupid charges but found guilty on a minor one so had to pay hundreds in Court costs.
