I've been working in and studying the Technology sector ever since I moved to Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in 2005 to pursue a full-time MBA. Since then I have been lucky to have worked at two technology startups that went stratospheric and achieved, respectively, 'Unicorn' (one billion US dollars) and 'Decacorn' (ten billion US dollars) status.

I've worked in technology startups since 2009 and I've learnt a lot in that time that I'm sharing with you here on my website and blog I've also got an MBA and Law degree and numerous digital marketing, analytics and CRM accreditations. These all come in helpful in my job providing marketing for startups.
At it's most basic, productivity is the amount of value produced divided by the amount of time (or cost) required to do so. And while this equation seems simple enough on the surface, the strategies for optimizing it have evolved dramatically. If you look at the chart above, only a few countries stand out as being able to be highly productive whilst maintaining long work hours - the USA, for instance.
The UK has had a hard time increasing productivity in the last ten years and I believe one of the key causes is a lack of innovation. Since increased innovation improves profitability at the same time as increasing employee engagement and happiness, why don't more companies try to adopt it? If you are always brain storming in the same office or set of rooms, go somewhere else.
While it's still fresh in my mind, I want to go through the checklist of points I covered to ensure that the first company event we ran last week was a success. I have got more experience marketing for and following up on events than running them. Event management is not rocket science, while in some ways, digital marketing can be.
