We have invested in a biomass boiler that heats the House and we aim to reduce our impact on the environment, stimulate the local economy, and support local community through all our activities. If the town of Southwell and the county of Nottinghamshire do not thrive then neither do we. Norwood Park was first mentioned in the inquisition of Archbishop Neville's property in 1388 and has seen many owners throughout the years.
The first weddings held at Norwood Park were in Saxon times beneath our centuries-old Oak Trees that range across our vast grounds. Since the 1970s, our weddings have moved into the house and onto the lawn. For nearly 150 years, Norwood Park has remained a private home in which the Starkey Family continues to reside when it is not in use by guests.
Norwood Park is a Country House like no other. With the Park itself steeped in nearly 1,000 years of history, the House too, has seen the turn of many centuries. Today we find it restored to its original grandeur with sweeping staircases, vast rooms, private niches, gorgeous grounds, delightful character, and more than a few hints of eccentric whimsy.

Disappointed we had to cross the landing to use the bathroom and we couldn't lock it from outside when not in use so anyone could use it. And as if to prove my point the chamber maids were in their before we had checked out. Dumping all the cleaning products and removing the towels so nothing to dry our hands on after using the facilities before our drive home.
That said it was a lovely venue for a wedding but don't expect to sit in the garden in the evening with your drinks as the over aggressive door person won't allow you too

Fabulous looking house, but it's not very user friendly for those less able to get about (steps with no rails, uneven paths and lots of gravel to walk on). Service was poor - kitchen closed before 9pm so no hot drinks available eg coffee; no staff around to direct guests to rooms after the wedding breakfast ended at 7pm (no floor plan to be seem) and at end of evening the security guard did not know the layout of the rooms so could not direct guests to rooms. It appeared that after c.8pm the place was run by a junior skeleton staff.
