Petwood
Enjoying a timelessly elegant setting and unique heritage, the Petwood is one of the most memorable places to stay in Lincolnshire. Once home to the famous Dambusters, and surrounded by acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, it is also steeped in British history. Join us for award-winning food, afternoon tea, or one of our weddings and special events.

Explore the charming village of Woodhall Spa or stroll our spectacular landscaped gardens. Whatever the occasion, the Petwood Hotel is among the most memorable places to visit, dine or stay in the heart of "Bomber County", Lincolnshire. The rooms were spacious and you didn't feel cramped. The food was exquisite, tasty, well cooked, imaginative and something to look forward to each mealtime.

We have heard very good comments as regards the Petwood Hotel, we haven't actually stayed there, only walked in the grounds and spoke to a couple with their dog who were there for their seventh Christmas, so that speaks volumes, we will book sometime in the near future to see for ourselves. It is steeped in history being a base for the 617 squadron (Dam Busters) during the second world war.

A lovely hotel. Clean, tidy and in good decorative order. Friendly, helpful and polite staff who were available but unobtrusive. Good covid safety measures in place. A beautiful bedroom (Wisteria) overlooking the gardens - a comfortable bed, large bedroom and bathroom. I highly recommend it.

It's a really lovely building, with great surroundings. Staff are very friendly, attentive and super helpful. Rooms are simple but clean, bright and comfortable. The bar is well stocked and there's a snooker room. The only thing I'd say is the food was a little underwhelming. Not bad by any stretch, but from the excitement drawn from the descriptions versus the reality, the meals just didn't quite hit the expectation.
Everything else though, very good. Recommended!

Well, what can we say...Room - Executive double very nice, bed fabulously comfortable, en-suite very clean. But!!!!!! The food and service extremely poor. Dinner choice for vegetarians very limited and over the top prices. Service at breakfast an absolute joke, Faulty Towers reincarnated! We had literally just sat down when the waitress asked for our hot food order, we said we hadn't chosen yet but instead of leaving and giving us time to choose she just stood by the table waiting... Also seemed disgruntled when we 2 of our table wanted their hot drinks with the hot food and 2 of us wanted is served

Visited for lunch and view of grounds. Food was amazing, really tasty and excellent quality. Service was also fantastic. The grounds were lovely, but was surprised that some fountains / water features had been left to run dry or were so full of green algae that the fountain was unable to pump. Some parts of grounds looked in need of a bit of t and c (long grass, weeds in borders) but all the gardens in the immediate location of the building were immaculate. The building itself is immaculate inside and out and has a lot of history to it. My only other feedback is that given the massive size and

What an interesting hotel. Just stopped off there for a coffee while on an afternoon's bike ride. The good weather has brought out loads of people and the back lawn tables were full. Rather quaintly, we were told that "walk in" customers could not be served afternoon tea but we could order drinks! Good to know that standards are being maintained!

Just had 2 nights at this hotel and it was wonderful. Room was clean and tidy and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and there was a fab choice of options from fresh fruit to a full English, plus other options like smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Staff were very polite and attentive. Grounds around the hotel were wonderful and would recommend a walk if you get a change. Yes we will be going back for another stay in time.

This place was great, full of history...OK I find the Dambusters just awesome! Now for what really matters, the staff was very attentive and eager to assist. They even looked around for a plug converter in the middle of the night so I could charge my electronics. We had dinner in the Dambusters room where right above the bar they have the actual tree that went through one of their planes! Sidetracked again sorry...OK the food was very tasty and the portions were just right. For breakfast you can stick with cereal, juice/coffee, fruits, pastries or you can also order eggs "your way." First off, the grounds are fantastic with stunning huge rhodedendrons in full bloom in May. And the Dam Busters connections are amazing for those into WWII history.

Sadly that's where the praise stops. I had called two days in advance to ask whether there were GF options for two out of the three of us in our group for a bar lunch. I was assured that there were and that they had GF bread.

On arrival, the first person did not know anything, and the second said that they had no GF bread. That limited lunch to a choice either of a plate of chips or a chicken caesar salad without the dressing

Visited for a wedding reception and was throughly impressed. Although I have to admit I was as impressed with the history of the hotel and the who had been there before. Its says RAF Officers mess all over it.
From the little time I spent at the bar and wandering around the gardens it gave you classy.
Bar was a little expensive mind you but aren't all hotel bars.

My parents live dead near here and it's been the venue of most of a family occasions. Love it. I like the fact that there's a bit of a Bouncing Bomb in the car park. The gardens are beautiful.
