If you face criminal proceedings, regardless of the seriousness of the allegation, you are likely to feel anxious. At Taylor Vaughan, we will guide you through the entire legal process, listening to you and providing practical advice to ensure that you achieve the best possible result. We hold a contract with the Legal Aid Agency to assist people in criminal proceedings.
Services
Following many years working as criminal lawyers throughout the North West at Magistrates and Crown Court level, we now operate the only exclusively criminal solicitors' practice in Bury. If you have difficulties at the Police Station, the Youth Court, Magistrates' Court, Crown Court, Appeal Court or Court Martial we have experience to place at your disposal.
All summary only matters are dealt with here before a bench of Justices together with some "either way matters" which are a type of offence which the defendant can elect Crown Court Trial if the Magistrates accept they have jurisdiction to deal with the matter. The criminal law of England and Wales is becoming more complex and difficult.
Electing Trial with a Judge and jury where their case falls within a group of crimes known as "either way offences". Facing Trial for an indictable only offence where only the Crown Court can hear such Trials, e.g. Murder, Rape, Robbery etc. Where Magistrates decline jurisdiction on a case they feel is too serious to be dealt with in their court.
This area of law can cover the most trivial of transgressions of the Road Traffic Acts, right up to offences where lives are lost and the courts will treat matters with the appropriate degree of seriousness. The law does allow people to keep your licence with 12 penalty points or more but only certain circumstances of exceptional hardship.
This area is criminal law with an extra dimension with the alleged crimes or breach of army regulations taking place within the framework of the armed forces rather than in the community at large. This has an impact then not only upon criminal liability but on a career within the forces.

We have experience involving these types of criminal proceedings and can assist by giving legal advice on evidence, any available defence, procedure and preparing for trial as in any other type of criminal case.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness
Briefly spoke to this company today for advice and although I'm not going to need their full assistance, as advice was enough, I'd just like to say, how friendly and supportive and helpful they were, helping me to feel better
Thank you so much

I would recommend them to anyone as they were friendly, helpful and I actually felt they cared about what could happen to me. I would like to thank Roger and Helen and wish them all the best!
