Nursery Hill Primary School
We were all delighted to receive a congratulatory letter from Marcus Jones writing on behalf of the Schools Minister RT Hon Nick Gibb MP congratulating Nursery Hill Primary School for the schools increase in the proportion of pupils achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics from last year (2019).

Here at Nursery Hill Primary, only the very best will do for our children as they begin their learning journey with us. Learning through play, whether it is pure play, structured play is all about engaging the senses and feelings about the world around them. Nursery Hill Primary School is a great place where your child will be valued and supported in all areas of learning.
Services
Parents are reminded that once a pupil is registered at Nursery Hill Primary School they have a legal responsibility to send their child to school regularly. For safety reasons, please let us know if your child is going to be absent. If your child fails to arrive at school without explanation, we will contact you just to make sure that your child is safe.
We have opted to teach by a cross-curricular approach which enables essential skills to be developed in all subject areas. We also wanted to give children the opportunity to learn about key people and events in local and national history. This approach provides children with an engaging, stimulating and practical curriculum in which they can address their curiosities.
Our outdoor classroom is a child-led approach to learning that incorporates children's right to play, to access the outdoor environment and to feel success. Our outdoor classroom is a unique way of building independence and self-esteem in young children, exposing them to the natural world at a time where it is vital for children to understand their impact on the environment.
Our most recent Key Stage 2 results, as reported on the Department for Education website are for Year 6 who left in 2018. The Department for Education has a website that gives parents information on our school performance. The Testing and Standards Agency has information for parents on primary school progress measures.
At Nursery Hill Primary School, we believe that all of our pupils deserve and should receive the highest quality teaching experience.

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent and this should be reported to parents and carers on an annual basis.
