Services
The aim is to prevent dental diseases rather than treat it at a later date. Fluoride applications and fissure sealants (tooth-coloured sealants) are applied to biting surfaces of children's teeth to protect them. These make the teeth smoother and easier to clean and prevent decay in areas that are difficult to clean.
Dental veneers are very thin layers of porcelain fitted on the front surface of the teeth to improve the smile. They can be used to correct the stains, chips, cracks, and gaps. In some occasions veneers can be used to correct misaligned or crooked teeth. A dental crown is a restoration made of porcelain, alloys of metals, or gold, which fits over the remaining part of the tooth for protection and to shape the tooth naturally.
If the decay is not too serious we will remove all the decay and restore the tooth with a white (tooth-coloured) filling. We can also remove any metal fillings and replace them with tooth-coloured fillings for a whiter smile. Teeth are stained by food and drink. Smoking further stains teeth and the natural bright, white shade becomes darkened.
After a tooth extraction you may have some discomfort and swelling for a few days and your jaw may feel a little stiff. If you need pain relief, you can take over-the-counter painkillers such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen. It's normal to have minor bleeding for the first couple of days after having a tooth removed.

I made the move during the pandemic from Abbey dental practice to Dr Maryam and her fantastic team and have not looked back. They are brilliant! Dr Maryam is the gentlest and most patient dentist that I have ever gone to and makes my hygiene cleans (with perm retainers mind you) such a smooth process. If you have a hygienist who leaves you scared to visit and is gruff and causing you pain, please quit them now and head to Dr Maryam!

I’m always so well looked after here. I haven’t come across a better dental practise (or dentist!). They always helped in every situation, from advice over the phone, to emergency appointments, to regular checkup and hygiene advice. And their service is consistently friendly and reassuring. I can’t recommend them enough 🙂
