Services
CGW Law are Family Law, Wills and Probate solicitors previously based in Stockport, Cheshire but now relocated to Oswestry, Shropshire. Our principal solicitor is Clive Wood who is a highly experienced private client solicitor who has a wealth of experience in dealing with the matrimonial and family disputes and in assisting clients deal with the administration of estates and the preparation of wills.
Choosing the right solicitor to represent you in relation to a Family Law dispute is probably more important than in any other area of the law in that the approach of the lawyer can have a profound outcome on the case both in terms of the outcome of the proceedings themselves and the emotional impact upon you and your family.
Having a Will means that after your death your wishes as to how your estate and property will be distributed will be followed. If you do not have a Will then the Rules of Intestacy will apply and your estate and property will be distributed in accordance with those rules regardless as to whether those rules are fair to you and your family or what you might have wanted.
Have you considered what would happen if you became incapable of making decisions for yourself? None of us like to think about this but the importance of a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) cannot be underestimated for your peace of mind and that of your loved ones to cover any future crisis.
There are now two basic types of Lasting Power of Attorney: one of which deals with your property & financial affairs and the other with your health & welfare.Under each type of LPA you appoint an Attorney or Attorneys to look after your affairs in the event that illness or accident renders you incapable of managing your own affairs.
