Inglewood Engineering are leading experts in assessment, inspection and design relating to instrument, electrical and control equipment located in areas covered by DSEAR/ATEX safety regulations. We work predominantly in the UK, however we also cover overseas. Risk Assessments should be carried out when there is a possible risk of an explosion or flammable atmosphere in the work place.
DSEAR regulations require the employer to classify places at the workplace where an explosive atmosphere may occur into hazardous or non-hazardous places. The Hazardous Area Classification survey covers this requirement. Inglewood Engineering site inspection and documentation is completed in line with BS EN 60079 guidelines to ensure that you can prove compliance to the relevant authorities.

Inglewood Engineering guide our clients through DSEAR compliance. We focus on Area Classification, Risk Assessment, Electrical Hazardous Area Equipment Inspections, .Non-Electrical Risk Assessments, Employee Training and Ongoing Compliance management. If your plant fails to comply we specify in detail what needs to be done.
Hazardous Area Compliance services have been provided by Inglewood Engineering since the early 80s, long before DSEAR came into force. During this time we have built up an enviable client list of blue chip national and international companies that employ us for our specialist knowledge in hazardous areas (now regulated by DSEAR).
Inglewood Engineering's aim is to ensure you achieve full compliance. And the inspection process is only part of the answer. It is designed to seek out dangerous deteriorations in the way ignition sources are protected. Non-conformances, come in many shapes and sizes. We advocate using your own staff to sort things out where possible; the gains are more likely to become embedded.
The ATEX Equipment directive 2014/34/EU gives constructional requirements for non-electrical equipment and the ATEX Worker Protection Directive requires non-electrical equipment already installed to be assessed for its ignition capability. Typical examples of existing non-electrical equipment that require risk assessment are solenoid valves, pumps, conveyor belts, hoists, gearboxes, brakes etc.
