Services
In 2020, The Granary Hotel & Restaurant celebrated 42 years in business. The Granary has always been a family run business and started after Jon & Wendy May bought what was a transport caf. The May family and Kelvin their Head Chef; introduced one of the first Carvery Restaurants in the area. Kelvin and the staff at the time worked hard to make the restaurant a place to be seen in, in the area.
Whether you are planning a Church wedding, a Civil Wedding, a Renewal of Vows or simply booking for a Reception venue, the Granary can oblige. You will find organising your Wedding with us a pleasure, from first contact with Wedding Coordinator, Katie Hughes, to the big day itself. We will always keep you informed and strive to go that extra mile to ensure your requirements are fulfilled.
Have a hearty A la Carte breakfast to start your day. A sumptuous buffet table and a great choice of dishes created just for you on the day. Breakfast at the Granary Restaurant is served 7-9am Monday to Friday and 8 -10am Saturday and Sunday. Perfect for residents and visitors alike. Come and join us for a leisurely lunch served Tuesday to Friday 12pm - 2pm.
Our partner, Amber Support Services provides and supervises Learning Disability clients with training in all aspects of horticulture and other indoor creative arts. If you want to get an impression of how much this means - just take a look at the smiles on the face of the clients. It says it all. This will be processed by Halfpenny Green vineyard into a Still Rose - and the hotel's first ever Sparking wine available in 2020.
The Granary Restaurant has a loyalty card scheme where for every 1.00 you spend in the restaurant gives you 1 point. These accumulated points can be redeemed against goods and services. It works much like a Nectar card. This card is in addition to any other offers - so you get the best of both worlds.

Arrived yesterday for our Christmas lunch at 1.30pm.. Food was lovely! Cooked very well... I think the heating should be turned on in the toilets because it was a very cold day..
Waitress was very rude when I asked her for some Tin foil so I could take a couple of slices of Turkey home for my lovely dog! I was told that I wasn’t allowed.. Obviously I was very annoyed after all I paid for it...
I of course told her this, and she then told me to hurry up so she could take the plate.. So so rude! She clearly has no waitress skills, and certainly not customer friendly.. My friend complained to

Oh dear. Beware. Don't go here if you have an elderly dependant who is frightened of covid. My 90yr old Mom so wanted to dine here on Boxing Day, but, the Goverment advises much care from Boxing Day onwards.
To protect Mom we asked to cancel & return deposit.
Management refused. What an awful response to out vulnerable elderly. Obv I will not eat here again.
What terrible attitude in such trying times.

My daughter booked her wedding here as she wanted an all in package. Everything was going smoothly until the last month before the wedding day. The hotel contacted her asking for the balance to be paid as her account was £7000 short. My daughter explained that it was paid months ago into the account THEY emailed her. After a few hours they called to say the hotel email was hacked and my daughter and another brides details had been compromised. We put a claim in with the bank and told it would be sorted within 15 working days. This would take us a day after the wedding. We had a meeting with one

Came here for a wedding and myself, the groom, bride and brides father spent most of the night sorting out the rooms which were disgusting to a point it was like staying in a prison. When we asked the manager what he was going to do about it he simply replied ‘if you don’t like it get a taxi to the hotel down the road’. Cannot fault the wedding organiser, Katie, she couldn’t do enough for everyone and she is amazing at her job, nor can I fault the wedding itself, it is just a shame that after all the money that was given to the hotel, the new management and staff just don’t seem to care

Stay away! FRAUD, DRUGS OFFERED TO GUESTS! We came here for a wedding. Firstly the bride got defrauded out of £7000 as the hotels emails got hacked, they did not take any liability or offer sincere solution. We thought the nightmare would end there but it was just the beginning. Rooms were grotty, dirty and not worth the money we paid (£95). Toilet roll holder falling off, grout in tiles mouldy, only had 3 fans for the whole palace so boiling in room! Bar staff were horrific, slow, rude, couldn’t even poor a pint!! Guests literally went behind the bar to pour pints and show THEIR staff how

Visited here for a wedding and must say what a lovely place. The food was fantastic and great staff. My only minor gripe was price of drinks but guess this is always the case with events and maybe I've lost touch with prices having not been out much during the past 18 months for obvious reasons! Overall a great place and would recommend either to go for a meal or to book for a special occasion.
