Nearly two decades of care and attention lavished onto the Ferry House Inn (FHI) have lead to the venue scooping one of the top food awards in the county. At a black-tie ceremony held at the Kent Showground in Detling, the pub was named 'Best Dining Pub/Bistro' in the Taste of Kent Awards. This is the second time the FHI has achieved the award with the first being in 2014.

11 4* ensuite bed & breakfast rooms idling in country bliss by the waters of the Swale river estuary. We loved this place. Room was very clean & spacious and had a wonderful view over the estuary. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, breakfast was excellent. Would return to explore more of the island and would recommend staying at the Ferry House Inn.

Disappointing first visit. Table for 9 of us for brunch, reserved but not cleaned. Menu looked inviting but when it arrived it looked very sparce on the plate! Warmed sausage, only one rasher of bacon, cold beans in a pot. Half a mushroom and half a tomato. When we asked for more bread to toast, it took ages and arrived floppy, clearly just defrosted in microwave. So much potential with a great view.

A splendid out of the way pub in the middle of nowhere down a windy road to the edge of the Swale. Surprisingly jam-packed with people. Lovely food and friendly staff. An ideal wedding venue (apparently). Be warned - the Police sit at the only exit onto the main road waiting to catch those who think "they can get away with it".

We had our wedding at The Ferry House last Friday, and have only great things to say about the whole process. From start to finish, the whole planning stage went smoothly, and the staff were so helpful and professional - great communication, emails always responded to quickly, we knew exactly what was going on at all times. On the big day, everything went perfectly. Every single member of staff involved was friendly, helpful and knew exactly what was going on across the venue. No awkward moments where guests weren't sure where they should be or what was happening, everything just flowed smoothly

We had a mini break away for one night. The staff was friendly and attentive, knowledgeable. The room was lovely, big nice bed, mattress was very firm not great. There was a generator that keeps going on and off all night long. At 4 am we were considering driving home as we were both awake. There is a treatment room and the massage was great. Here’s the thing we were sold by the fact that everything was local and grown in the garden and it looked and sounded fantastic. Reality we had to pre-order our food, the food wasn’t great we won’t be returning.
