JPW Electrical Services was set up to fill a gap in the domestic market, which was being left short by other companies. Many people I spoke to talked about tradesmen being unreliable, not returning calls, not turning up, not listening to their requirements, not finishing the job, leaving a mess, hiding extra charges etc. etc.
The gap was for a tradesman whose first priority was YOU - "The Customer". A need for a professional who would complete all aspects of the installation to a high standard in FULL compliance with current requirements of Regulations and Safety and then clean up after themselves. I carry out my work in your home as though it were my own - if I wouldn't be happy with it in my home I won't be happy with it in yours.

Services
Certain times of year are busier than others, so it is always a good idea to forward plan where possible. All estimates exceeding 300 are prepared in writing after a visit to your home to discuss the work you have requested me to estimate. I do not do telephone estimates. This is because I am obligated to check certain parts of your existing installation before submitting an estimate.
All electrical installations deteriorate with age. Wiring installed before 1966 is of the greatest concern as this was the time when Rubber was last used as a cable insulation material. As we now know rubber perishes and can become hard and brittle and crumble leaving exposed live parts. Lighting circuits installed pre 1966 did not have an earthing conductor.
The majority of electrical installations carried out after 1966 should have been wired in PVC insulated cables and therefore full rewiring may not be needed. These installations may only need upgrading to bring up to date with current regulations. There have been a significant number of improvements in this area to try and make electrical installations safer.
Every electrical installation deteriorates over time and should be inspected and tested at regular intervals. This is to make sure it is safe and is likely to remains so until the next inspection. It is effectively an MOT for the fixed electrical installation in your home. It is recommended that electrical installations in homes be inspected at intervals not exceeding ten years by a NAPIT Approved Contractor such as myself.
