Garrett-Long Solicitors
Since then, the firm has grown from a small local office in Markfield to impressive, larger premises in Anstey. Its outreach also extends across to the charmwood and Leicestershire. The range of legal services now includes residential conveyancing, personal injury, litigation, wills and probate, and family law.

With a strong local reputation for customer care, Garrett-Long receives requests from many former clients returning for repeated help with legal matters. At a time when many larger firms have closed small village offices, combined with mortgage lenders finding it difficult to secure membership to their panel, Garrett-Long have remained in demand for their legal expertise.
Services
At Garrett-Long, our team are experienced residential conveyancing lawyers, helping you with all legal aspects of selling, buying, transferring and re-mortgaging property; we can help eliminate the more difficult aspects of property transactions, whilst using our expertise and knowledge to act on your behalf.
A surprising number of adults have not made sound provision for their dependents after their death by drawing up a Will; they often have no idea who benefits from their Estate, after they pass away, when a Will has not been made. Yet you can easily ensure your Estate is as straightforward as possible to administer for those that you leave behind.
Estate administration matters can be bewildering to sort out after someone has died, particularly for a family in grief. After someone dies, there are a number of important and necessary steps to follow. An Executor or Administrator is someone who is responsible for administering the Estate.

In the absence of a valid Will and the deceased died Intestate, there are specific Intestacy Rules which determine who can be appointed as the Administrators of the estate. The role of Executor or Administrator can be complex, depending on the Estate of the deceased.
If you should lose the ability to manage your personal affairs and make decisions, such as handling your financial and tax affairs or transacting a house sale, you can nominate someone you trust to make important decisions on your behalf in the future. This is called a Lasting Power of Attorney. In order for this to meet the stringent criteria acceptable to the Court, the paperwork must be legally intact with the correct documents submitted.
Divorce is the legal process required to end a marriage and is usually preceded by separation. If the marriage is beyond repair, you will have to remain married for 12 months before you can file for divorce. 2 years is the minimum length of time for separation, after which you can divorce by mutual consent.

If you want to waste your time, you can go to this solicitor. Haven’t done anything in 2 months regarding my case just wasting my time. Really poor quality service.

We used Garrett Long for our recent house sale/purchase. Charlotte was absolutely fantastic, our purchase was rather troublesome but Charlotte went above and beyond whilst reassuring us every step of the way. She kept us updated and nothing was ever too much trouble. Honestly couldn’t thank or praise Charlotte enough. Thank you again, we did it!!!!

Very pleased with the service received from Charlotte for our recent house move. I found her to be prompt, professional and easy to deal with. Queries were answered swiftly and she took the time to explain all stages of the process and answer my questions fully.

When they first moved to Anstey I sent several emails and I did not receive a single reply. Very off-putting. I was not surprised with the other reviews on here.

Don't answer the phone, and when they finally reply to numerous emails they send another persons will to me. Hopeless

Very poor communication, first they say (in writing) that they can help then after almost one week of chasing and receiving no reply when trying to firm up an appointment they say they don't actually have a solicitor that can do the job. A simple reply to an email to tell me wouldn't have taken much.

Amazing customer service and very fast. My family needed a solicitor to come home to witness an oath as soon as possible for my mum as she is disabled. Me and my dad looked everywhere and all the other solicitors could not do it for a week. Victoria Long was super sweet and nice and managed to get it done the same day we went to her office!

Hard to work with on our house sale and purchase. We never spokewith our solicitor only her assistant and when I called in our solicitor didnt even acknowledge me. We frequently had to chase them up after we were assured they would call us and when we did we were met with a coldness that was uncomfortable.
We never felt like a valued customer more like something off the bottom of our solicitors shoe. Funny I thought we were paying for our solicitors service so why we're we constantly made to feel inadequate?
