Austin & Carnley
Austin & Carnley is one of the oldest established firms in Bedfordshire and was founded in Luton in approximately 1884. During the 1950s the firm expanded, incorporating a number of offices, and we have been in Leighton Buzzard ever since. The firm has evolved over the years and we now have a number of thriving practice areas, including Conveyancing, Employment, Family, Wills & Trusts, Probate and Dispute Resolution.

If you are facing employment or matrimonial problems, are moving house, leasing a shop, buying a business, wish to make a will or need help with a loved one's estate, you need help as quickly but with as little fuss as possible. We aim for proactivity on all our matters, pushing them forward to a speedy conclusion whist maintaining a high quality of service.
Services
We recognise that buying and selling your home is a stressful process and for most people is their single largest financial transaction. We aim to minimise this stress as much as possible by keeping you constantly informed and by keeping cost to a minimum. We have implemented the latest technology and systems to ensure that we can progress your purchase or sale as fast as possible.

We should all make a Will as we all care about what happens to our loved ones after we die. Without a Will, legislation directs who inherits, so your friends, favourite charities and relatives may get nothing. It is important to make a Will if you are not married to your partner. This is because the law does not recognise partners as having the same rights as husbands and wives or civil partners.

Austin and Carnley are highly experienced in obtaining the right outcome in employment disputes and negotiations. Employment Law is one of the most complex areas of the Legal System and we are able to guide you through to achieve the best possible outcome; whether by issuing an Employment Tribunal Claim or negotiating a confidential Settlement Agreement.

I have been really pleased with the standard of service that I have received from their solicitor Simon Peacock. He has guided me through quite a complex legal matter and resolved it ahead of schedule in a transparent and professional manner.I am extremely happy with the outcome and it has totally exceeded any expectations I had at the outset of this matter. Whenever I have contacted Austin @ Carnley I have found all of the staff, without exception, both courteous and helpful. I really cannot recommend Simon and this firm highly enough.

Used Austin & Carnley for the conveyancing on my recent property sale. Solicitor Debbie Carvey provided an excellent and efficient service throughout. It can certainly be a stressful time selling a property, but Debbie kept me informed throughout the process, and the costs were very reasonable. Would highly recommend their conveyancing services.

Dealt with Austin and Carnley for the conveyancing on our house sale and purchase. Jeanie was professional and very efficient even in the strange times brought about by the covid lock down.

I cannot speak highly enough of the team at Austin & Carnley, particularly the ever professional Jeanie McCaw and Samantha Bartram.
Jeanie handled our house sale and purchase and was reassuringly professional, honest and friendly and gave us every confidence that we had appointed the right firm to handle our house move.
Due to the incompetence of our buyer's Solicitor, our completion was delayed by 48 hours. During this stressful and worrying time Jeanie and Sam worked over and above for us to ensure we finally got our keys. I will be forever grateful to Jeanie and Sam for all they have done

Got in touch with Austin and Carnley following Citizens Advice’s recommendation.
I got in touch with Mr Peacock who was extremely professional in the way to approach a new client, calling me after my inquiry on the website for free. Thereafter detailing that he would deal with my issue for a fixed rate including one face to face meeting and letter.
My issue was an insurance claim following a road traffic collision that was unduly charged to me as the evidence provided to me clearly exonerated me.
I compiled on my side a dispute report that detailed the points I was contesting on their claim

I just had the pleasure of using their services for conveyancing.
Jeanie provided a professional and seamless service. I never had to push for anything, everything was done so no need to.
She was always available to talk to everyone else involved in the process and kept everyone up to date at all times.
Money well spent, and would highly recommend her.

As first time buyers myself and my partner wanted a solicitor that would talk us through each step clearly and make us feel at ease with the whole process. Austin and Carnley certainly did that and were happy to answer any questions we had big or small! We felt reassured that they had our best interests at heart and we wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. Thank you for all your help and support Austin and Carnley!
