We are a large community primary school in Penn, Wolverhampton. We have a community of families from all walks of life, and enjoy learning and growing together as we strive to ensure all of our children realise their full potential during their time with us. We strive to be a hub for the community, somewhere that all who walk through our doors feel welcomed and valued.
Children with HI will be welcomed and included into the body of the school, working and playing with their peers while still receiving the specialist support they need. We are delighted to have SNEYS (Special Needs Early Years Service) based here on our site.

Daily, we will have Reading, Writing and Maths sessions. In reading, we will look at a combination of whole class texts and a few little extracts here and there. Sometimes, we won't even use words in our reading sessions! In writing, we will look at a whole host of genres throughout the year and we will try to make it as fun and exciting for you as possible.
This year is an exciting and important beginning to our learners' full time school experience. During the first half term we will be getting to know all our new learners. We will use this time to lay the foundations of good relationships, routines and expectations of school. We will do this by providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
We have daily Read. Write. Inc sessions that teach us reading and spelling strategies. We then apply our skills in daily Literacy sessions, based around some of our favourite stories! In Maths, we build on the skills we have already learnt within school, focussing on number facts within 20. We even try to count above and beyond 100!
In guided reading, we enjoy reading a variety of texts across a range of genres. We develop reading strategies such as prediction and inference skills and encourage the children to discuss what they have read. We urge the children to talk about text structure and to identify different types of text such as fiction and non-fiction.
