Herbal preparations are natural and green. They have been used for over 2000 years to treat illness and restore good health. Today the World Health Organization estimates that 80% of the world's population depend on plants as their main source of medicine and research confirms, and updates, the safety and effectiveness of many traditional plant remedies.

Medical Herbalists are Herbal Practitioners trained in the medical sciences and who take an holistic approach to clients. Herbal selfcare is about learning to care for you and your family's health and well-being so that you can be more productive, financially stronger and less dependent on doctors and drugs.
Services
Medical herbalists are trained in the medical sciences. The herbal consultation is much like a visit to your GP but you are afforded more time and a more holistic approach is taken. We are interested in your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing so that a rounded health plan is reached that is tailored to your individual needs.
The ancient art of herbal medicine has long been tainted with associations with new age quacks. But, as MATTHEW JENKIN discovers, there is more to the Western tradition than spells and potions. Herbal medicines are often the last resort for people when it comes to preventing and treating illness. However, after having a consultation with a professional, I realised the practise offers real help for many.
The fresh plant is pleasantly aromatic, with an apple like perfume that the ancient Greeks enjoyed. It was they who named it 'ground apple' - kamai (on the ground) and melon (an apple) - from whence our name Chamomile came.

Research at Imperial college London and published in the American Chemical Society's Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (2005) provides evidence that the traditional herbal medicine Chamomile may actually help relieve a wide range of health ailments including colds and menstrual cramps.
The hayfever season is upon us and each year more people visit my Selfcare Clinics because they are unable to find adequate relief from their conventional medicines. The wet weather keeps the pollen count down, but rain only delays the inevitable, if you are one of the 15% of Britain's population who suffers from this allergic reaction.
Your circulatory tree holds about 60,000 miles of blood vessels. This network carries blood to every part of your body. But if your circulation slows or is blocked the cells in your body do not get the oxygen and nutrients they need. When your limbs cannot get enough blood, your hands or feet may feel cold or numb.

Amazing Herbalist.
I was recommended by a friend and went to see him for a consultation. He listened, asked
great question, took notes. All the things GPs used to be able to do. He put us on a regime and both my mother and I have seen very good results.
I couldn’t recommend him more!

I am so grateful to Richard Adams for giving me a herbal alternative to statins for controlling cholesterol levels. His approach is so much more holistic than the GP's. Thanks!
