There are now 2 Hinges & Brackets shops trading in and around Kent, as well as Sam Davey's HBai architectural ironmongers from his unit, selling good quality architectural ironmongery, locks, fixings and fittings. Hinges & Brackets have been supplying door handles, locks and window fittings since 1985, so we know a thing or two about how to make your home look good and work well with the proper ironmongery.

Company history Report

Kitted out with a stack of old shop drawers and some redundant stock acquired for a good price, they started selling various hardware and household sundries. Inside, stock was piled high and prices were (meant to be) cheap, but people still wanted and needed to buy traditional, quality ironmongery and it simply wasn't available in the sprawling 'Sheds' (as the big chains are known in the trade).

Hinges & Brackets are proud to supply and be associated with, Kirkpatrick of Walsall. We only stock Kirkpatrick antique iron products, such as window stays, fasteners, catches, latches, hinges, brackets, knobs and knockers, and not any inferior imported copies.

When Hinges & Brackets was started in 1985 and it was soon decided that the business would aim to gain a reputation for its quality of ironmongery and mainly well made British designs for British houses.So we have always stuck with Kirkpatrick, because of the durability of its traditionally made ironwork.

Excellent company, used for years for all my knobs and handles. Has the best quality. Very helpful and reactive and even after needing to replace a few handles after seven years of buying them they were able to source the exact same ones, quickly with ease and came back to me within 24 hours! Will always use as my first choice.

We went to buy a new lock and the guy could not have been more helpful. A few weeks later I had a problem with the lock and key barrel and again the guy was just so helpful, changed the lock and key barrel with no fuss - great customer service , very rare these days
