Rising damp is an issue that can affect all buildings; it is particularly a problem in older houses and is fairly slow to develop. Nearly all buildings are surrounded by natural moisture that is trying to get into the dry structure of the building. Wet and dry rot can be easily mistaken for one another; we will perform a thorough survey to find out the exactly what treatment the affected area requires.

Rising damp occurs when ground water travels upwards through building materials such as brick; it may show as damp patches to the low area of the wall or a tide mark stain, this is due to the salts in the ground water. Before any treatment is carried out one of our expert, fully qualified surveyors will visit you and carry out a thorough internal and external survey to identify the exact cause and extent of the damage.

Basement waterproofing is often known as "tanking". This is carried out to prevent unwanted water from entering; this is a common problem as they usually lie below the water level. This kind of waterproofing often takes place when converting a basement into a living space, without this your surfaces are prone to cracks caused by ground water movement.
At Beneck Preservation we have many years of experience in dealing with dampness and condensation control. We can correctly diagnose the cause of dampness and offer an extensive range of energy saving ventilation solutions which will attack the source of moisture. Moisture is allowed to build up when there is a lack of ventilation.
A home extension is a great way of adding additional space which is adaptable to your property. At Beneck Preservations we can carry out the total build of your extension including footings, brickwork and full re wires. We will liaise with Planning Departments on different stages of the build and obtain a completion certificate when the build is finished.

I was quoted for having outside render removed from gable wall and re rendered. Inside plaster removed from floor to ceiling of gable wall damp sealed and replastered. I was told it would take 10 days. They did not show the first week. No communication from them. When I called they said they were waiting on scaffolding. Second week they came and took plaster off inside house and replastered. Made an absolute mess of plaster. Spent 2 days taking render off outside of house. Left place in a mess. Two weeks later they have not been back to render the gable wall. In meantime loads of rain getting inside

Couldn't have wished for a better company. Ken came out and found the problems and quoted a very reasonable figure for the works. The team were very professional and carried out the works to an excellent standard and left the place spotless. Would gladly recommend them to anybody and will definitely use them again.
