Services
If you have existing sash windows you can get new sash frames made and re-hung in the boxes. These frames can be single or double glazed. The glass in the double glazed frames is toughened and thermally efficient as well as proving a significant noise reduction. All frames are spray painted and we supply new furniture as standard.
No matter what state your sash windows are in we are experts in repair and restoration. We carefully remove old windows, treat and repair any rot with rot treatment and isobond, splice in new timbers (where necessary) and rebalance them with new cords and furniture. All frames are belt sanded and planed at the edges to help ease of movement.
A more comfortable home: energy-efficient glazing reduces heat loss through windows and means fewer draughts and cold spots. Peace and quiet: as well as keeping the heat in, energy efficient-windows insulate your home against external noise. Reduced condensation: energy-efficient glazing reduces condensation build-up on the inside of windows.
It is possible to re-make your sash windows in exactly the same design and double-glaze them creating a more thermally-efficient home and, with our new draught-proof beading installed, eliminate the draughts. Some sash windows are hundreds of years old, commonly found in Georgian and Victorian houses.
As all houses vary in size and spec we need to inspect and evaluate each job (and each window) to find the best options available for you and your budget. Our quotations give a full breakdown and assessment on the condition of your sliding sashes, so call for a free estimate. With new sash frames you have the option of single glazing or double glazing.
