Learn more about our history and the iconic Blackpool Grand - When Thomas Sergenson arrived in Blackpool from Preston in 1876 to take up a position at the public baths on Hygiene Terrace, he little thought that by 1909 he would have become one of the North West's leading theatre managers and making Blackpool history.
The baths were soon demolished to make way for the Prince of Wales theatre, which later became the Alhambra, then The Palace and is now the site of Poundland on the Promenade. Sergenson eventually leased the theatre, which launched his career as the People's Showman. His theatre specialised in favourite melodramas, popular music and low comedy.

Our little family came last week- it was our daughters first ever panto and my GOSH she bloomin loved it! She’s been calling herself Muddles all week!
Hats off to you all- it’s been a long time coming but it’s… absolutely wonderful to see the theatre come back and you aced it!
It was even more enjoyable when Muddles (Steve Royal) and the Prince (Chris Warner-Drake) knocked off poor Nursie’s wig during their own version of ‘12 days of Christmas’ with 5 TOILET ROLLS 🎵
Sorry Jamie Steen but it was hilarious- well done on keeping going without bursting

Outstanding, helpful staff who refunded 5 tickets to Snow White after 2 family members contracted Covid. Previous visits have left me in awe of the wonderful décor. Must be one of the premier theatres in England. If you get the chance whilst in the area, don't fail to take in a show. You will not be disappointed.

Bought the digital pantomime to watch with my husband and 4 year old. We had a great time and were so so impressed with how well they managed to make the show. Just 4 actors, all socially distanced but you just wouldn’t know. You didn’t feel it. It was funny, lighthearted, entertaining and just what we needed. In a time when the arts is struggling, they have found a way to still bring entertainment to us and still be able to perform. I really hope people buy it and help keep the arts alive.x
