Services
Chlorine is the number one chemical treatment for sanitising a swimming pool. It kills bacteria and algae that get in to your swimming pool's water. Chlorine comes in two formats - granular and in tablets. You dose your pool with chlorine granules usually by scattering them on to the surface of the water, chlorine tablets are placed in your skimmer basket where they slowly dissolve over a week.
Algae (known as phytoplankton by scientists) are microscopic plants that can grow in almost any type of conditions but warm swimming pool water is a particular favourite for them. Algae spores can blow in to your swimming pool from almost anywhere and if they find the water to their liking you can very soon have an algal bloom in your pool.
The pH (always written with a lower case p and an uppercase H) is the acidity level of a substance. It is measured on the pH scale which goes from 0 to 14. At one end of the pH scale is 14 which is very alkaline and at the other end 0 is very acidic. In the middle is the pH value of 7.0 which is neutral.
For 10ft, 12ft, 15ft or 18ft above ground splasher pools we recommend Fi-Clor 5 Buoy and a pack of 3 Way Test Strips (see above). The 5 Buoy contains chlorine and clarifiers to keep the water clean and safe. It just floats on the surface and falls over when it is empty. Take it out when you use the pool and put it in a bucket.
Your pool can sometimes go cloudy because it has very small particles in it that are so small they pass straight through the filter. Swimming Pool Clarifiers are chemicals that make very small particles join together to form a bigger particle, big enough to get trapped in by your filter. Some clarifiers are simple compounds and others are complicated chemicals with secret formulas.

I have to give Jason five stars. A year on from self-building a pool he not only gave me good advice then but has also now. Not only has this advice given me peace of mind, I'm now progressing thanks to the details of people he told me about. I've yet to place any substantial order with Poolstore but in this day and age where nobody really goes out to help others, Jason has been a breath of fresh air. Cannot wait now for the day to order pool liner and cover from him as well as other items.

Misleading delivery times, appauling customer service and not a company I would recommend dealings with. This was in regards to copings for a pool we have been doing as part of a project. Tried to supply inferior stones instead using a 3 week long wait for the originals as an excuse. Left unexpected costs to reschedule of works. Have used a different supplier as lost trust, save yourself the same experience.

I was very happy with this company supplying chemicals at a reasonable price with a reliable delivery. Unfortunately the relationship has soured in recent weeks as their refusal to discuss the delivery of a faulty product (40ft hose) is both bewildering and most disappointing. Their final proposal was that I should wrap the hose (not that easy) and return it at my cost of about £25. Clearly customer relations is not a high priority.

I've always used PoolStore and find them very helpful and accommodating. When my suction hose broke during a long weekend the boos even let me collect one from his house on a Saturday. Excellent service..

Extremely disappointed in this store. PoolStore made a mistake on my order and then demanded additional payment to cover their error. Customer service is extremely poor. I will warn potential consumers to avoid this store.
