Services
Our specialist departments are all Director-led and our aim is to work for you with clarity and determination. We provide specialist products and services rarely available elsewhere. In fact many other businesses (including Independent Financial Advisers, will writers and even other solicitors) refer clients to us recognising us as a market leading practice.
We provide our Will writing service to staff, volunteers, service users and clients of many charities; sometimes via a panel but usually on an exclusive basis. Our Free Will service raises very substantial funds for charities via donations, gift aid and legacies/gifts in Will. In 2019 we raised 63.9 million for over 300 charities!
We have had several solicitors when we were in business and we can honestly say that McClure were the best. They were honest and very professional, more important they were very considerate and sensitive to our needs and wishes giving us good advice. They deserve a rating of 4 stars simply because no human being is perfect so as to receive a rating of 5 stars.
McClure are solicitors regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Law Society of Scotland. We were founded in 1853. We developed the Family Protection Trust, also known as the Asset Protection Trust, in 2002. We are regarded as market leaders in the provision of Family Protection Trusts.
When making a Will, Lasting Power of Attorney, or setting up a Family Protection Trust, your first thought may to be appoint family or close friends as Executors, Attorneys or Trustees. However they may not always be the most appropriate people to administer the estate, deal with your financial affairs in the event of you being unable or incapable of doing so and act as a Trustee and more importantly, they may not want to act.

McClure ran a "boiler room" organisation where untrained staff working to a commission were processing estates and Wills. They were sanctioned by the Law Society. Has anything changed?

Critical: Responsiveness
Still awaiting feedback regarding my Power of Attorney from last year. I spoke to a lady at the new owners who told me she had passed my details on to the relevant person at McLures with an assurance I would be contacted. This still has not happened. They have been paid for this and still nothing. Beware.

My husband and I recently used McClure Sols will making service. Despite this being in the middle of the covid crisis and so all having to be done on line we found the service excellent. Appointments were all on line and always on time, the service was friendly yet professional and as first timers to will writing everything was explained to us really well.
Following our experience and recommendation, my parents have also used McClure for the same service.

The service that we received from McClures was excellent. Their staff were exceptionally professional and helpful, offering to schedule virtual meetings at the most convenient time for our family, often much later than normal working hours to accommodate our own working schedules. The entire process was made very simple and straightforward. Whether communicating by telephone or email we always received a prompt response.

My husband and I used McClure’s will writing service. We found the entire process to be incredibly simple in spite of all the implications of Covid-19. We were able to complete everything from home without any problem. Our adviser Peter Harrison explained everything to us in a professional but friendly way. My wife and I prepared our wills with McClure Solicitors as part of their free will and charitable donation service (Will Aid). We were originally slightly concerned about using a free will service however these were unjustified and the service we received was highly professional and very efficient.
We didn't know what information we required or even questions we had to ask ourselves however the advice we received addressed this and was very thorough. My wife and I required mirror wills and the wills were drafted and finalized over two meetings over

Very poor service. Absolutely ridiculous to contact. When will someone get back in touch with my mum to sort the issue. Would not recommend. Absolutely non responsive. Will not get back to emails or calls. My grandad died in September and the paperwork has suddenly gone missing in their office. Is this a GDPR issue? Do we need to take this further? Absolutely dissatisfied with this service. Is this company regulated? If so, please let me know further details so I can take this further and make an official complaint. Kind regards.
