The chimney stack repair work is carried out in the same areas of South Wales as the chimney sweeping e.g Cardiff, Newport, Caerphilly etc. We tend to carry out chimney stack repairs from the early spring until the early autumn months. This hopefully gives us advantages with reduced risk of frost damaging the building work and hopefully better weather in general.
Besides chimney sweeping I fit a variety of chimney cowls and chimney pots. I will only fit a cowl I think is suitable for your particular application be it solid fuel, gas, oil or a situation where a downdraft may occur. Really a pre fit survey is required to determine the type of cowl that is suitable and any access issues.
Carbon Monoxide is an odourless and colourless gas that can kill quickly. It can be caused by the incomplete combustion of any fuel. The risk of getting ill from properly maintained and installed appliances is very low. Symptoms can include breathlessness, dizziness, feeling sick, headaches, confusion, collapse and weakness, muscle pain and loss of hearing.
If you have a building without a chimney then a twin wall insulated chimney with a stove could be the answer for you. Points to consider when designing this type of system include the following. The product that we use will give a maximum of 3 meters of unsupported chimney for a 6 inch flue bore, something that could be important if like this customer you have a single storey building.
