If your forklift is used for more than four hours a day it is better to buy a new model. A new forklift will have technology advantages, be tolerant to abuse and harsh treatment, and provide greater long-term reliability.?If you have a heavy use forklift, then you should consider that operating and maintenance costs of used equipment may soon eradicate any initial savings.
When you operate a Forklift Truck, or any lifting equipment, you have legal duties and obligations surrounding lifting operations and equipment. This is covered in The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998 and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
Under current legislation, you are responsible for ensuring that any fork lift truck you use meets the legal safety requirement of a Thorough Examination.?As you may be aware, Thorough Examination is, in many ways, the materials handling equivalent of your car?s MOT inspection? but is much more rigorous.It is a legal requirement that applies to every fork lift truck?

From both an insurance and Health & Safety point of view, if you operate a fork lift truck, you have a legal obligation to ensure it is correctly maintained. This means that it is thoroughly examined and tested; failure to comply could result in prosecution, invalidation of your insurance or worst of all a serious accident due to faulty equipment.
We can dispatch a service engineer to your site within 4 hours of a call-out in the Leicester area.?Often we are on-site within an hour, depending on distance and availability of engineers.?We will carry out emergency breakdown repairs on your site. I found this company very easy and genuine to work with. The owner really tries to work with you and come to an agreement where you as a business can grow. There is real pride in the company establishing a good image and I can't help but relate, when you wish to grow and stick firmly to principles that respect the customer and uphold the integrity of the business. Was in need of a forklift urgently, found someone down the road from leicester forklifts but just knew it wasn't right. So I hired a used forklift that was basically beaten up but meant to be like those toyotas that never die. Used it and never really had a problem all I had to do was make sure the water was always FULL. Immediately this was ALARM BELLS as the guys were willing to give me a forktruck like that. Anyway used it for a month and the Lads tried to sell me the truck for the same price that Leicester Forklifts was giving for a truck that had side shift tilt and rise almost 6 METRES high
