Hi, I'm Scott and I am a Wedding Photographer in Somerset with a documentary approach to capturing weddings. I strongly believe that the best wedding photography should not be staged or posed, which is why I focus on capturing genuine emotion and natural moments throughout the day. Documentary Wedding Photography is about the people, the relationships, and the connections.
No interrupting, staging, posing or otherwise making you feel uncomfortable during your wedding. I photograph real moments, the actual experiences of the day rather than what I think the day should look like. I'll certainly get some beautiful shots of the two of you, and I may take the dress out of the closet for a picture, but I generally shoot things how they are and where they are.

Services
It's a true privilege to photograph someone's wedding. My goal is to tell your story by capturing the day as it unfolds. I like to call it moment driven photography, others may refer to it as 'documentary wedding photography' or 'reportage wedding photography'. However you call it, it's about telling it like it is.
Anybody can photograph a cake or the signing of the register. My goal is to capture those special 'moments between moments' that document the natural, fun, and real connections between people - the images that tell the unique story of your wedding day. I do this through observation, anticipation and engagement.
I want to record the love and connections between you and your family. All of my family photography sessions are fun, playful and real; fake smiles and unnatural poses are not my style. The sessions last around one hour on location in a park or woodland; it's nice to get outside where young and old can be free to play.
As no two wedding days are the same, I don't apply a single take-it-or-leave-it all-day fee; I would prefer to discuss what you want from your photographer. I've photographed small, intimate weddings as well as multi-day weddings with 150+ guests. There is no mileage charge for weddings within 90 minutes from Bristol but destination weddings or weddings a great distance away may incur additional charges and/or accommodation, all charged at cost.

Scott took the most incredible photos of our wedding! My husband and I are not at all comfortable in front of the camera, and we wanted someone who would prioritize capturing the day as it happened rather than staging posed photos. Scott put us both at ease and was a wonderful presence to have there on the day, and we often didn't even realize he was taking photos. He has such a talent for catching moments, and so many of his photos seem to tell a story. We really cannot recommend him highly enough! Thanks again Scott.

Scott photographed our wedding and we couldn't be happier. We had a great range of formal and natural shots, and he captured loads of moments that would otherwise have been missed. Scott's really friendly and many of our guests commented how lovely he was, though you hardly notice he's there! Thanks Scott, you're a star.

Scott is an excellent documentary photographer, he captures those beautiful intimate moments that nobody else sees providing you with a lovely collection of memories from your big day. Scott has photographed my work and I love the way he has captured the beauty of the flowers and the detail of my work.
