A1 Motorcycle Training was formed in Gateshead in 2009 and since that time has trained thousands of students to ride motorcycles safely on the streets of the North East. Our staff, along with being experienced are also very friendly and have lots of patience. All of our Instructors are fully qualified by DVSA, also hold RoSPA Gold Advanced certificate.

Gift Voucher Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) 110.00 1 day course Gateshead/Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is for riders who want to carry pillion passengers, Training in yard then out on public roads. We accept all major credit and debit cards using the Paypal checkout system.

Once CBT is carried out we book you in for an upgrade to big bike 400cc or 600cc this will be done on a 2-hour booking slot. Depending if you satisfied the elements set for your upgrade then you will undergo Mod 1 Training in the DVSA yard this is where you sit the actual test. We cover around 130 miles of training to gain Local knowledge and relevant skills required for the test.

Full UK bike licence with a two-year power restriction on what you can ride. Aimed at those not wanting to ride anything too powerful for two years and the only licence option "available to those aged 17+". This licence can be gained using either a manual or automatic motorcycle. If you take your test on an automatic, you will only be allowed to ride an automatic, which means that you will only be able ride a manual bike (geared) as a learner.

Great set up and place to go for your CBT I very highly recommend them. I did mine yesterday 11 October 2021 Kevin did most elements with me a great bloke and a good laugh now and then so a big thanks to Kevin a great bloke. Alan Thompson took me out

Did my upgrade, mod1 training, mod 2 training and both tests with these guys.. the way they work is outstanding, they take the time to let you know where you went wrong as soon as you have done it so any issues are quickly and safely resolved. Lovely guys, hilarious too. Cant thank you all enough 👌🏼

Just passed my Mod 2 today! Also passed my CBT and Mod 1 with A1. Would 100% recommend these guys to anyone. Expert, friendly, helpful instructors, put you at ease. always happy to answer any questions, willing to take the time to explain and demonstrate. They really know their stuff and train to a high standard; massively increased my confidence. Great family atmosphere, very chilled. Thank you!!

Just passed my full bike test today. From never riding a bike in my life i passed first time. This was due to the lads being amazing. From Alan doing my CBT back in December all the way through to Richie, Ricky and Chris taking there time and explaining everything thoroughly whilst on lessons and getting me trained to a top top standard. I cant recommend you enough!

I cannot fault the lads and lasses here. I sat my second CBT here back in June then got my MOD1 and 2 booked in. The whole experience from start to finish was incredible. Very patient, knowledgeable and helpful instructors who make you feel at ease throughout every lesson. I'm happy to say I passed both tests first time thanks to the guys. I highly recommend them.

Honestly couldn't speak any higher of this team. Started last year with my CBT with them. Then this year I passed my theory and went straight to book lessons for my Mod1, got a cancellation for the week after and 3 lessons later I passed with 1 minor. Then I got another cancellation for Mod2 a week later, 4 lessons later I passed with 3 minors. In the 2 weeks i was full of confidence thanks to how good this family business is ran and their teaching skills are second to none. Also had so many laughs which helped put me at ease.

Been wanting to do my bike test for a long time, 31 years old, 14 years driving experience, after having a tough few months finally decided to bite the bullet, shot through my theory this week and have managed to get in for CBT and MOD1 with A1 very last minute.
I arrived early at 7.45 and suffer horrendous anxiety (even though I can ride bikes and have road knowledge) and was put to ease by Kevin, who was very professional and very knowledgeable.
I have had previous bike experience, but asked to be shown as if I didn't like a new starter, top to bottom. Kevin is very attentive and easy going

Best Motorcycle Training School!
I have just passed Mod2 today, first time with no minors thanks to these guys! The delivering of the training I received was excellent from day one making me feel comfortable, confident and approachable to all members of staff if I had any questions from riding on the road to asking when my next lesson was.
The administration part of the A1 Motorcycle Training school was effortless. With working offshore all my lessons were booked in accordingly to roll onto my Mod 1 then Mod 2 test which was a huge weight off my shoulders and not having the hassle trying to block
