Most shops OK. Some empty units. Ridiculous queue outside in the cold for the post office. Should never have moved into the back of shops.

Too many coffee shops and not much else. There is an awful stench of cigarette smoke through the centre on some days due to the outdoor smoking area at Costa.

So much better now that restrictions are softening, more people about enjoying the shops, coffee outlets and lovely weather. Witney is such a lovely place to visit with the added bonus of the Woolgate centre.

Excellent and compact centre. Absolutely gobsmacked to find the multi storey car park was FREE. Wonderful and a lesson for other towns methinks. Worth going for that. Ended up buying a jacket in Fat Face and a superb lunch in a local pub. THE ROYAL OAK. Absolutely charming and so helpful owners who have been there for over 30 years apparently. Highly recommended. Food was amazing

This is more about Witney in general. I like it, and that's helped by free parking (3 hours I think in the Woolgate, but other car parks in Witney have free all day parking). I would usually take the bus, but the use of public transport is not encouraged at the moment.
You will find the usual big players including a Waitrose but also a good number of independent traders. The old centre of Witney is very pleasant, and pretty much anything you want can be found there.

Nice area, a 'corridor' without roof much of the time, with with a variety of shops on either side, links the Waitrose Supermarket, H&M, carpark area with the High St.
Opticians, mobile phones, WHSmith...and others.
Car parking is free.
