The business was set up by George Gilchrist Johnston and Richard Hunter Jeff who, in the early days, specialised in selling peas to pigeon fanciers. However, George and Richard soon noticed that miners kept canaries too and spotted an opportunity to supply canary seed and millet seed. During WWI, we continued to supply pulses and seeds, but due to the scarcity of food, this was turned over to human consumption.

However, this has left a legacy that underpins the superior quality of our products to this day. Since then, many of the raw ingredients we buy are human grade, meaning the feeds we create are among the most nutritious available.

Last 4 bags of canary has been loads of barley grain in mix ,had word with owner where get food from she says it takes ages to get order from them

Managers in wood shop don't have a clue, they blame unskilled workers for their own mistakes just to cover their own backs, lack of joinery knowledge meant that they lost a contract last year due to poor design and communication to the work force. Because the company are willing to underpay for semiskilled joiners 99% dont even have joinery qualifications or experience so not really classed as semiskilled, the amount of timber waste the company produces is unethical. Just a bird seed company at heart, those that are looking for somewhere to start their joinery career avoid this place contract given

Parrot food full of bugs, I bought 2 sacks over 3 months and both bags had bugs in them, emailed them and they didn't want to know, I am £70 down.
never buy from them again.

Careful of the weighbridge area. If your heavy they have cheap hardcore in areas that will tear through your tyres.
