We strongly believe that reading is one of life's greatest pleasures and there is nothing better than browsing the shelves of your local bookshop to discover your next great read, or your new favourite author. We stock over 7,000 books in Oakham and 10,000 in Stamford, and if we don't have a book in stock that you need, the chances are that it will be one of the 300,000 titles that we can order for you to collect next day!

To buy books, DVDs, CDs and even vinyl on-line, please use the fabulous HIVE. They are based here in the UK on the south coast and have over 1 million products in stock ready to deliver to your door. If you are kind enough to select us as your local bookshop they even give us a few pence for every book you buy from them too!

A few months before the government introduced the plastic bag charge we bought in our usual quantity of our high quality 'bags for life'. Previously these would have lasted us for around two years, but I am really pleased to say, that our plastic bag use has dropped by over 95%.

This means that we are left with a residual stock of plastic bags and rather than send these to landfill and replace them with paper bags, we have decided to continue using these bags until they run out.Once they do, we will replace them with a paper bag instead! Thank you to all of our customers who have been reusing our bags.

We are really sorry, but Just for the moment we aren't running any of our usual bookish events, but we hope to get back to normal soon! Our shops are perfect for: book signings, book launches, poetry readings, literature recitals, children's book readings and anything else you can think of! You will also find us selling books at local book festivals, theatres, schools and the fabulous Stamford Arts Centre.
