I joined Benenden Saturday 23/03/2009,used the service twice.
I phoned the 24/7 help line on Saturday 23/10/21 for advice regarding a serious reaction to medication I was taking.Receptionist said someone will contact you on Monday 25/10/ 21.I queered the long wait and was told,we are busy ,first come first served .That kind of rubbish service I can get from my GP for free. so decided too save about £150 a year and cancel my membership.

I dont even know where to start. Some of the best medical professionals in the world reside here. Every single person in this building, from cleaners to consultants, is friendly, kind and understanding. I have had major spinal surgery at this hospital twice having been bed ridden for 8 months. I would not be walking today if it were not for Mr Lau, he saved the quality of life for me and my young family. Parents have also had surgery here and both have nothing but glowing reports. If you invest in the health of your family with Benenden, you won't be disappointed.

My family have been members for approx 20 years. In the early years we found Benenden worthwhile and a benefit. However, since then whenever we have requested an appointment, including physiotherapy, it has been denied, with the excuse they only offer diagnostic treatment.
My wife has had 3 spinal operations and due to covid lockdown UCLH agreed my MRI could be done locally, after chasing my GP for over 3 months in desperation I tried Benenden, and again they refused as it was not diagnostic.
In view of the fact that you require a referral from the GP, and cannot get an appointment directly,

I was referred as NHS patient with an umbilical hernia that had been found by a scan. A Consultant at St Mary’s recommended that this should be fixed but to save me a long journey suggested I had it repaired locally.
I thought Benenden would be my best option. The Consultant I saw sent me for an MRI scan and when I went for follow up appointment he told me I didn’t have a hernia and even though I showed him a letter showing scan results stating the measurement of hernia plus other details. He said no he could see no reason to do this op.
Fortunately I have a good GP Ms Parker who referred

Have only been to Benenden as a visitor, but have found it to be very clean modern and up to date, the staff are helpful and friendly and have time to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. Will give an update in a few weeks with more information as I will be back again, but from what I've seen so far Benenden Hospital is a very good Hospital. 🚑 Note.. This Hospital is run as a private enterprise with no accident and emergency.

I attended with my wife today the 21/12/2019, the staff were very polite and nice. We decided to have lunch following my wife’s appointment and what we were given was unbelievably disgusting. The chicken Tika looked must like someone vomited on a plate and it was spicy hot but tasteless. The soup was reheated straight from a 45 pence can, the frozen chips appeared to have been cooked several times and were oily and dry.
Surely you can make an effort, you have uninterested staff who can not do that extra effort to please the customers.

No history of MRSA infection or other superbugs often found in other hospitals.
Own room was quiet clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom.
Food great, staff exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Consultants, nurses and all staff I’ve met treated me with care and respect . Medical and surgical treatment extremely professional and of a very high standard.
The hospital runs a free shuttle bus from and to Headcorn station.
One can elect to have treatment on the NHS ( as I did) here as all Consultants / Surgeons must also work in the State Scheme.
