Services
Maggie started The Pottery Place in 2001 in her words as 'a midlife crisis' and has never looked back. The inspiration was to have a business that was creative and involved her love of ceramics. 20 years on the shop/studio is thriving with her team of wonderful staff. Daisy is our jack of all trades.
Our littlest artists can join in the fun and make some beautiful pieces with their hand and footprints. If you'd like a bit more guidance, we run regular workshops throughout the year for both adults and children. Generally it's fine to pop in, and we always do our best to accommodate everyone, but it doesn't hurt to ring ahead for weekends and holidays.
We are rightly known as the best place in Oxfordshire for baby print gifts and keepsakes! Each of our pieces are individual and handpainted just for you. Our friendly staff will spend time with you choosing your items, and advising on colours and designs, and then get you the best prints. Our artists will finish the pieces to the highest standard, although if you wish to you are very welcome to add the writing and artwork yourself.
We run various events throughout the year, including workshops for both children and adults. Our children's workshops run every Tuesday and Thursday during the holidays and are best suited for school age children. Adult workshops take place on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. We can also visit your school and run a craft workshop for any occasion.
Our children's workshops run every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school holidays. These sessions are perfect for school age children and cost just 15. Workshops run from 10am-12pm and a member of staff is with them the whole time, meaning you don't have to stay. Please call us on 01993 704234 to book.

I arranged a mini hen party here for my friend a couple of weekends ago. The staff were really helpful and set out stuff I had bought for it on the table ready for when we got there. It was really good value for money and everyone had a really fun time. We also got the hen a keepsake jug with all our finger prints turned into little hens which turned out really well!

My daughter had a pottery party to celebrate her 7th birthday. The girls had a choice of decorating a mug, plate, bowl or name plaque. There were 2 staff dedicated to helping everyone, really kind, but informative. The girls decided they were lovely.
We're took food and cake for afterwards, I forgot that the shop serves coffee, which was a shame.
Highly recommend it for a party, we have been before to do decorating and that's great too.
