Noise assessments are often required to support a planning application where there are concerns about noise in terms of noise impact on a proposed development or noise impact from a proposed development. These noise assessments usually entail noise measurement, computer prediction or modelling, assessment of the impacts of noise and development of mitigation where necessary, so should be carried out by qualified noise or acoustic consultants.
Building regulations for new build and converted developments require sound insulation standards to be achieved. Miller Goodall can provide advice and guidance on how best to achieve these standards, either by assessing plans and specifications provided or visiting an existing building and providing detailing advice on how to achieve the sound insulation criteria.
Room and building acoustics are an important aspect of new-build and redevelopment projects (including residences, schools, hospitals, hotels, offices, sports and leisure, entertainment, retail, industry, theatres and cinemas) as they can have a significant impact on health and wellbeing, productivity and communication.
BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) was first published in 1990 by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) as a worldwide standard method for assessing, rating and certifying the sustainability of buildings. Aims to avoid significant noise impacts on nearby noise sensitive properties from the building or the external fixed installations.

Report
Sub contractor of Anwyl. Came to do a sound test, nice guys but their body language throughout it was indicating it would fail. Told it would take a week for Anwyl to get the report and then for Anwyl to get back to me but took 4 weeks, they asked Anwyl what building materials were used in an email so why would you need to know this unless had concerns... Adjusting to make the sound test to pass, possibly. Considering that apparently hearing person above you use microwave, switch light switches and plug plugs into walls, walk around, washing their dishes etc, going for a wee, shutting curtains
