Sometimes known as fabric roof awnings, these products have fixed frameworks and support posts from maximum stability. This means they can cover large areas and withstand heavy duty usage. Pergola awnings have a fixed framework with support posts. The fabric can still be retracted and extended as with a patio awning, but fixed parts provide extra stability for higher wind ratings and large area coverage. They are ideal for providing shade for both domestic and commercial properties. Pergola awnings are designed to create a cool open area using their unique design to provide shelter from sun and high winds.
Freestanding awnings allow for large sun and rain covering without the requirement for mounting to a wall. There are two types; butterfly awnings which have a two-legged central framework stabilised with either concrete foundations (Markilux Syncra 2 Fix) or stabilisation boxes (Markilux Syncra 2 Flex), and the Markilux Planet which has a single support leg fixed to a concrete foundation.
