It was taken over in 1978 by Mary Colegrove, and offers tuition in classical ballet to children and adults of all ages. The aim of the school is to combine the enjoyment and beneficial effects of learning to dance with a sound classical training. Many professional dancers and teachers have started their training here, and former pupils are currently attending many of the leading vocational schools.
Services
Children are accepted for the Pre School classes from the age of three years. The classes are enormous fun, highly imaginative, and include basic ballet exercises, and musical movement of varying quality. A pianist is always present. Parents are welcome to stay with their child until he or she is happy and confident.

The Oxford School of Ballet is a wonderful dance school in north Oxford. Our daughter joined this term and was immediately welcomed into the class. The teacher, Esme, is kind and cheerful while also ensuring the children learn good technique and have fun.
