Whichever you choose the effect created by the diffusion of light through the coloured glass and perforated frame is enchanting. The Moroccan lanterns and Moroccan lamp shades do not include any electrics. They are hung from the ceiling, either with a hook next to your existing pendant ceiling fitting, or a ceiling rose with an integral hook, such as that found in our shop.
Still one of the most unusual types of lamp available, the Moroccan henna lamp provides a soft ambient light. Hand made by the skilled artisans of Morocco, the iron frame is covered with goat skin and hand painted with traditional Moroccan designs using henna and sometimes coloured paint, in some cases the skin is dyed before painting with henna.
Most of the lanterns can be used as a normal electric pendant lampshade. They are hung from the ceiling either by putting a hook next to your existing ceiling rose or using a rose/ceiling plate with an integral hook. Your existing electric cable comes through the plate and into the top of the lantern - depending on the style of lantern it will then either go through a top 'funnel' or drop into the body if the lantern has a wide open top.
