Northamptonshire Music & Performing Arts Trust
We have a number of different County Music Ensembles, including wind bands, brass bands, symphony orchestras, choirs, so there's something for everyone. We offer a variety of resources, training sessions and national curriculum based lessons for schools and their staff. Find out about our drama lesson, Youth Theatre and how to audition for our Young Actors Company.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to lessons and rehearsals. If you would like to go to one of our Saturday Centres, you can register with our registration form. This year the membership subscriptions for the first term are fully funded, so there is no charge. You can find more about the work of the Saturday Centres and where they are on our Centres page.
Services
Our core values are to 'inspire, nurture and excel' and to provide the young people of Northamptonshire with musical and artistic opportunities. We offer a range of enrichment programmes for schools and individuals of all ages around the county. Our highly talented team of teachers are able to provide teaching on musical instruments at every school in the county.
The Trustees are appointed on a three year, renewable basis in accordance with the Articles of Association. To advance education within the framework of the arts for the benefit of the public of Northamptonshire and elsewhere. To advance the arts and culture for the benefit of the the public, particularly but not exclusively, by promoting and facilitating access to and performances of music and other art forms.
Auditions for Northamptonshire County Music Groups, Choirs, Ensembles and Young Actors Company are open to young musicians, singers, and actors in full time education in Northamptonshire. We also welcome applications from gap year students and from those living in nearby counties.

Our county groups page has more information of the opportunities available, however auditions are for all the opportunities associated with your instrument or voice, rather than for a specific ensemble or group. Before you apply, please check the requirements below, which outline the standards expected and pieces to prepare.
Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust's Community Choir: The first community group run by NMPAT. The choir is the first community group run by NMPAT, for people who simply love to sing and want to improve their skills, whilst performing a wide range of styles, from choral classics to songs from the shows.
During the pandemic, we have been creative with our county group rehearsals - with face to face, socially distanced rehearsals (when guidelines permit) in conjunction with remote sessions on Teams. We are looking forward to a return to traditional rehearsals, and hope to be able to share performances throughout the year.

Superb - brilliant opportunities for young musicians. Undoubtedly "the best Music Service in the country - and probably the world!". It's our daughter's second home (although sometimes feels like she spends more time involved with NMPAT stuff than she does at home....had amazing experiences and opportunities playing at top venues and we will all miss it when she finally leaves! Superb teachers and brilliant ensembles to aspire to getting into.
