Rope lagging is manufactured from low density blown glass fibre core enclosed in a braided cover of glass yarn. They differ from other glass fibres in that they are extra soft and pliable with excellent thermal insulation properties. The glass fibres are inorganic, sterile and incombustible, they are resistant to oils, solvents and most chemicals and have a low level of leachable chlorides and fluorides.
E glass needlemats are suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to 550°C, however tensile strength continues to reduce noticeably as temperatures increase above 400°C. Glass braided packing is manufactured from air textured filament E type glass yarns and provide a high volume of entrapped air and consequent good thermal insulation.
Basalt needle mat is manufactured from 100% continuous basalt fibres that are specially carded to produce a high volume batt. This is then mechanically needled to bond the fibres, which results in a dimensionally stable mat or felt, possessing excellent thermal and acoustic insulating properties without any chemical binder.
Ceramic cabled rope is manufactured from high performance ceramic fibre made from high density or twisted carded Sliver (Low Density), reinforced with either a wire or glass filament. Sliver and yarns are produced on traditional textile machinery by carding 1260 grade ceramic fibres with a percentage of cellulose fibre to assist in the processing.
Ceramic Rope Lagging is made from a ceramic blanket which consists of blown ceramic fibres. The lagging is a light weight, resilient, high temperature material with low thermal conductivity. It is resistant to thermal shock and has excellent thermal stability, low heat storage and excellent corrosion resistance.
