Sam helps out several days a week, and gets just as excited as our Brides. Her laid back, and friendly way of helping Brides at their appointment is welcomed by our customers. Alison has helped out on Saturdays for many years, and Brides love her attention to detail. We are always aware that you only get one chance to make sure everything is perfect for the special day.

We offer Payment Plans to help spread the cost. And a delayed measurements service, if you find a dress but want to wait a while to be measured.

I first visited Barbara in December 2020 just as the shop opened again after the second lockdown. Our wedding was in July 2021 and it was a very stressful experience not knowing if it could all go ahead but Barbara did everything she could to make me feel calm even when things were very uncertain. Thank you so much for making me feel like a beautiful bride. I'd highly recommend Barbara!

Had a lovely experience here to view my daughter in her wedding dress. Barbara was very accommodating, and extremely helpful when we asked about tiaras and veils. We were under no pressure to purchase any accessories but there were plenty of choices and we fell in love with a tiara and veil, which we did purchase with the guidance and expertise of Barbara’s experienced knowledge. Thank you so much for making my daughter look absolutely stunning 💕

I had the best experience here choosing my wedding dress. I was nervous of going to a "normal" wedding dress shop and being made to feel massive but here everything fitted or was too big which made me feel good! Barbara was so helpful and listened to what I wanted from my dress and went to find alternatives based on what I liked. I was not pressured into buying any of the dresses and I was torn between two so called a few days later to pay once I had decided which dress was for me. I even made a separate appointment to bring my mum and show her the dress which Barbara was more than happy to accommodate

An amazing experience at About a Bride with Barbara and her daughter who made finding my dress an easy and enjoyable experience. They knew what I needed better than I did and picked out the perfect dress for me. 1 week from my wedding, I can't wait to put my dress on and walk down the aisle.
It's also amazing as a plus size woman to talk into a shop and have so much choice, not being restricted to just a handful of options.
Barbara also made us feel very safe during covid times (we first visited in April), as we were alone in the shop and it was clear Barbara took the cleanliness very seriously

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at About a Bride! Barbara was so helpful and after trying a couple of dresses she knew exactly which ones to show me. The shop works on an appointment only basis meaning you get the shop and Barbara to yourself which is such a lovely experience. I felt comfortable and at ease the whole time .My dress was stunning and I felt like a princess on my wedding day in May 2021! Thank you!
