Abbott Street forge operate from a 19th Century forge building on the National Trust's Kingston Lacy Estate. The Forge was out of action since 1945 until 1997 when we took over the premises. The Forge still houses much of the original equipment, most notably the brick forges and the old anvils. The Forge has featured on BBC television notably 'Escape to the Country' and BBC South Today.

Abbott Street Forge designs and produces handcrafted contemporary and traditional wrought iron work for a variety of clients including, country estates, The National Trust and private individuals. We are very proud that much of our work is repeat custom or referrals from previous satisfied customers.
Every piece of work is individually hand made and finished in a gun metal effect and then painted using a blend of natural citrus oils. Abbott Street Forge is based in Wimborne, Dorset and many examples of interior ironwork has been for clients across Bournemouth and Poole, as well as Hampshire, Wiltshire and the New Forest.
From our workshop we craft the highest quality, bespoke and weather proof garden furniture. Every piece of our wrought iron garden furniture is galvanised in order to help prevent rust, and either hand painted or powder coated, creating a weather proof finish. We have worked extensively with garden designers and other garden professionals, and are always happy to discuss any projects that you may have in mind.

We specialise in supplying and fitting wrought iron estate fencing for National Trusts, parkland, commercial and private estates. The park and iron estate fencing / railings we produce are made by us in several different styles and sizes to suit the particular location. They can be either primed and painted in choice of colours.

First class bespoke traditional iron monger and excellent craftsman. Giles visited to measure and fit a bespoke security iron gate as part of rehabilitation of four rescued disabled hedgehogs. These hogs would not live long in the wild and would be easy prey but now they can live out their natural lives in the peace and safety of a beautiful wildlife friendly back garden. This required a sensitively designed long lasting iron gate. Giles took time to find out what was needed and crafted the perfect side gate. He gave advice on the structure covering important features i had not considered and provided
