TVMS has served the Tees Valley for over fifty years. Initially a purely peripatetic instrumental tuition service, we have extended our provision to include teacher training, school curriculum support and delivery, consultancy for all aspects of music education, including music technology, and instrument and equipment hire. Now one of the 122 National Music Education Hub Lead Partners, we are the first port of call for all your music needs.
Services
TVMS provides high quality music opportunities for children and young people across our four partner authorities of Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. We believe that every child should have access to a breadth of opportunities regardless of circumstance or background.
The National Plan for Education highlights the important role which music has as part of a young person's education. Learning to play a musical instrument has many benefits: it teaches perseverance and discipline; fosters self-expression; relieves stress; promotes social skills; boosts self-confidence and promotes happiness!
Whether you want to be a guitar hero, demon drummer, keyboard king, boss of the bass or superstar singer we can set you on your way at Rock Factory in our Sound Pod facility. Sound Pod, featuring high tech access to all the above activities, was first installed at TVMS in 2009.
Since then, teaching methods have been developed and refined to give young music pupils and students the authentic pop and rock experience, including formal lessons, song writing workshops, multi-track recording and drum boot camps.Imagine ten rock bands in the same room all playing at the same time!

Whatever age you are and whatever your ability, TVMS can provide or signpost a group for you. Brass and wind bands, string orchestras, choirs and rock groups are all run by TVMS and membership of all of them is FREE to TVMS pupils. You don't have to have lessons with us to join though and, for a small fee, all players are welcome.
In regular conversation with OFSTED, we work closely with schools and colleges to provide support for teachers, both specialist and non-specialist, to increase confidence and quality of Music National Curriculum delivery. We also provide enrichment workshops and performance opportunities to bring this teaching to life in the context of current themes such as Caribbean, World War One and recently, the BBC Ten Pieces.

Lovely staff, my daughter had lost interest a little but with a highly successful exam pass (albeit pricey) she has renewed interest. I have her tutor Miss Smith to thank for putting in the extra time to get her really ready.
Keep me up to date with information about her progress each year and costs etc .
