Services
O Sole Mio has been serving quality Italian cuisine to Glaswegians for over 50 years. Established in 1965 the restaurant has undergone something of a transformation in recent years while still retaining the high standards that have made it a landmark on the Glasgow restaurant scene.

Current proprietor, Djamel Benouari, who has a wealth of experience in the catering and hospitality industry, having managed The Art House Hotel and Barca in Prince's Square for many years, has used his superior expertise to transform O Sole Mio into one of the trendiest, modern and chic Italian restaurants in town. The newly refurbished restaurant and bar are supremely designed with modern booths and tables, fashioned in sultry, sensuous colours.
At O'Sole Mio it's all about the quality of the ingredients. We pride ourselves on using the freshest seasonal vegetables and fine cuts of Scottish meat, as well as the best seafood that Scotland has to offer. Our menus have been designed to offer quality, value and that essential ingredient: authenticity.
As a professional restaurant critic, I am always looking out for the best places to eat and drink, for work and pleasure. Last week I was delighted to find this charming Ristorante - seriously fine food matched by a warm atmosphere - on my way to Glasgow Theatre Royal. Well the name does mean My Sunshine, from the famous Neapolitan song written in 1898.

Pleasant, attentive staff. Food was really good. It was my first time in the new venue and felt quite packed in. Also very busy at the 5.30pm time slot but potentially pre-theatre crowd.

Had our usual Christmas sisters lunch, food was great as usual and was good to see the restaurant moved to New premises. Great place. Only negative was we found the place cold today, could be the fact there is no double door like last one, or was the heating not on. Saw some people with jackets on.

Shocking service. Almost 50mins wait for a plate of mussels. Restaurant wasn’t even full. And staff think it’s safe to walk around the restaurant and leaning over and talking to customers with their mask on under their nose. Will not be back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food way cold. Partner ordered an anchovie pizza, chef literally forgot about the anchovies (LOL), sent pizza back and it came back with cold anchovies ontop. No effort given at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. On a lighter note the serving staff were 10/10.

Visited for 1st time at lunchtime. Good choice on lunch menu, 2 courses for £11.95. Ordered Bruschetta Napoletana to start and Spezzatino di Vitello (veal stew). Although the Bruschetta wasnt the best I have ever had it was still really good and the veal stew was excellent. Other party members ordered the mussels, pizza and spaghetti bolognese and they all enjoyed as well. I would definitely recommend the food and the staff were great as well.

First time in new premises and it has lost none of its charm. Great food and welcoming and pleasant staff. Was a lovely touch that the owner was on the floor speaking to customers. A Glasgow treasure.

So sad to see this place go, had a catch-up with the girls and we ate from the set menu which had a great range of options. Food was lovely, well cooked and nicely presented - hit the spot. Great value too as it included a drink in the price. O Sole Mio will be missed in Glasgow!
