Kelbrook Lodge is a traditional shooting box set in its own grounds on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. It is located 8 miles west of the market town Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire dales. The M65 link is only 12 minutes away, giving easy access to Leeds, Manchester and Preston. The Lodge itself was purpose built in 1908 for shooting entertainment days by Edward Carr, a wealthy local lawyer.
Over a century later it is still used for this Victorian tradition, now one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and a popular way of entertaining business associates, friends and family.

A very friendly and scenic shooting ground, with quite a lot of stands to shoot from, all with solo delay for when you are practicing on your own. My only criticism is the lack of 'open space' as it does feel a little cramped . That said, it is a lovely place to shoot. And if you shoot over the lake , then you can disregard my small criticism, and enjoy the open space , the view, and the shooting.

This is a really nice place to shoot, you have your choice of stands and are free to roam around. The stands are varied and offer some challenging shots. There's a competition area overlooking the lake too.
The grounds are well maintained and that makes it an enjoyable environment to shoot in.
There's a cafe on site thats open on the weekends, there's vending machines during the week.
The on site shop although small has everything you need, whether its a new gun, ear defenders, shot or advice.

I normally (in non-covid times) visit several times a year, with friends, for clay practice. The layout is challenging and is always being updated. The facilities get better every year and the staff (mostly family of the owner) are friendly and helpful. If you want to shoot some clay pigeons, I doubt that you could find a better place. The surrounding countryside is majestic.
